Kristy de Poel
The Finance Room follows Kristy’s business philosophy of putting her clients at the heart of everything she does.
As a mortgage broker since 2008, Kristy’s customer-first ethos was instilled by her mortgage broker mother, Jill de Poel, who suggested Kristy follow her footsteps into the world of finance. A natural communicator, Kristy knew she was born to be a mortgage broker and to help people achieve their finance goals each and every day.
After being an integral part of an award-winning Mortgage Choice franchise, Kristy, and her husband Jamie, opened The Finance Room in late 2020 as a bespoke brokerage where she can look after her clients’ best financial interests every step of the way with personal, tailored service.

Jamie Christie
Jamie is an award-winning mortgage broker, diversification specialist and investor who brings to The Finance Room nearly 25 years’ experience advising high net-worth clients. With a particular expertise in creating wealth through property, Jamie always has his clients’ financial future at his heart as he guides them though a complex financial environment.
With an extensive network of contacts in Adelaide and Melbourne, Jamie moved from the construction industry to finance where he owned and operated a successful Mortgage Choice franchise in Morphett Vale and Blackwood. Consistently ranked in the Top 10 franchises in the country, Jamie’s business was awarded the Diversification Brokerage of the Year at the 2019 MFAA Excellence Awards.
Selling the franchise in early 2020, Jamie is now a consultant to firms in Adelaide and Melbourne and, together with Kristy, runs The Finance Room to give personalised financial advice to a select group of clients from their office in Glenelg South.
